SE “Artemsol” (Donetsk region) has launched a tourist route “Secrets of the underground salt world” in one of its mines. The route was launched in April 2021.
“Visitors can learn the history of salt mining, see the labyrinth of underground corridors. Tourists will get acquainted with rare mining tools and equipment, with methods of extraction and transportation of salt, which were used earlier,” – said in Artemsoli.
The walking route runs at a depth of 200 m. The half-kilometer tour lasts two hours. Tourists will be introduced to the Museum of Salt Mining, the Church Museum, photo areas, salt bas-reliefs and sculptures.
Excursions take place at the №1 mine, which was opened in 1881. It used to be called “Bryantsevskaya kop” and is the oldest in Donbass.
In the summer of this year, Artemsoli plans to launch a second tourist route in the mine with a depth of 300 m. There are plans to hold light and music shows.
“Specialists are already at the stage of completing the installation and adjustment of equipment at a depth of 300 m. During the visit, tourists will be able to visit the salt hall 30 m high, which will host unique light and sound shows,” the company added.
